With new baby, many landlords saying "No Babies Allowed" to us

We are new Tenant Members here and very happy to join this community.

We have moved back to Toronto and staying with relatives and looking for a nice place to rent. March 1st will work or April 1st. March 1st would be better because my aunt's place is a bit small and we are being a bit of a burden as we have a 7 month old who can be a big noisy!

We have good references and expect to find a good rental easily but it's been anything but! We keep running into landlords who as soon as they see our baby they say they won't rent to us.

This is getting not only frustrating but pretty damn scary (hence why we joined here).

Can someone offer us some help on what we should do? Is it even legal for landlords to keep rejecting us based on the fact we have a baby daughter?
